Meet Our Principal/Director

Subject: Welcome to the Paul J. Blackwell Learning Center!
As your principal, I am deeply committed to providing a positive, nurturing environment where every child can grow and thrive. I am so excited to welcome both our new and returning families as we begin this wonderful school year together.
My journey in education began in 2003 teaching Pre-K in Hartwell with the Ninth District. I have been a proud member of the Blackwell family since 2005, and it has been an absolute privilege to serve this community for over two decades. Throughout my tenure here, I spent four years teaching Kindergarten and 12 years in Pre-K, before transitioning into my recent role as a Pre-K Special Needs and MTSS teacher. Having also served as the Principal’s Assistant since 2013, I am deeply honored to now step into the role of Director/Principal, and I look forward to continuing the amazing work happening within our Pre-K program.
This handbook is designed to familiarize you with our school’s general procedures, rules, and regulations, which are aligned with Local and State Board Policies. (You can view our complete Local School Board Policy on our website at https://www.elbert.k12.ga.us). We encourage you to review these pages so that you and your child feel confident and prepared.
Open communication and collaboration are vital to your child's success. If you ever have questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out. We do kindly ask that you connect with your child’s teacher first regarding classroom or educational matters, as they are closest to your child's daily routine. Thank you in advance for your partnership, cooperation, and enthusiasm—we are going to have a fantastic year working together!
Sincerely,
